Things to do in New Zealand

New Zealand

New Zealand is one of the locations that captures what you’re thinking. A nation of mystery, Māori folklore, and enchanted splendor. A country where you may ski and surf in the same day, walk a glacier before falling into a natural hot pool in the evening, or take a boat through a glow worm tunnel before visiting the mythical region of Hobbiton in the afternoon.

As a New Zealander, I frequently disregard how lovely my own country really is. So, as an incentive of my own and to urge others to come see this distant island country, I’ve put together a list of the greatest things to do in New Zealand that are going to make your time there memorable.

1. 90-Mile Beach

Ninety Mile Beach is just waiting for you to go on an adventure. Miles (deceptively only 55 of them) of immaculate white sand await at the northern tip of New Zealand’s North Island.

Popular activities include surfing the left-hand breaks and bodyboarding down the massive sand dunes. Either one will make your heart race and your soul sing!

Please be aware of potential traffic on the sand. This beach is an official highway!

While it may be enticing to drive the scenic journey on your own, it is far better to entrust the driving to professional guides. Most rental car firms will not cover you if something catastrophic occurs.

2. Bay of Islands

One of the best things about New Zealand is its accessibility. The best vistas aren’t just for the wealthy and resourceful; anyone may appreciate the breathtaking beauty of this untamed area.

This resonates especially true in the verdant surroundings of the Bay of Islands. What seems to be an exclusive paradise of pristine beaches, barren islands, and remote inlets is accessible to anybody. And this region of New Zealand’s North Island hides one of the nation’s most intriguing and valuable historical monuments.

3. Volcanic Island

The youngest volcano in New Zealand is Rangitoto Island, which emerged from the sea about 600 years ago. With the exception of a few unusual species, the island is a stunning reserve.

A daily boat trip will carry you to the island, where you could spend the day exploring the several treks offered, including the famed summit trail. You will be rewarded with breath-taking 360-degree views of Auckland and the surrounding islands after this quick, steep hike.

An unorthodox way to experience Rangitoto Island is to go on a nocturnal guided kayak excursion. This excursion lets you watch the sunset from the summit before kayaking back across Waitemata Harbour beneath the stars.

4.  New Zealand’s Favorite Exhibit

Did you know that New Zealand boasts the world’s only colossal squid display? The 470 kg specimen was caught in Antarctic waters in 2007 and is now kept at Wellington’s Te Papa Museum.

It’s a treasured New Zealand symbol, and Giapo, another local legend, has transformed the squid into a culinary masterpiece! Giapo has a long history of making the best ice cream in the world, and the Colossal Squid, one of its most recent creations, is no exception.

Giapo’s Auckland location is usually an adventure in and of itself, so come on down to the downtown area to taste a mouthwatering assortment of tastes, many of which are vegan! Take this New Zealand must-do off your list!
